Mothers Day Breakfast - Wildflowers and Hearts
This year Mother’s Day may feel a little different in how we celebrate, as we may not be able to share this special day with our family and friends all in the same location at the same time.
Though that does not mean we still cannot make it a special day for the special women and people in our lives. We can still celebrate in style, and I wanted to show, how with some gorgeous tableware (premium paper tableware), classic and pretty decor and some small personal touches how you can create a special Mother’s Day in your own home.
Wildflowers and Hearts, is all about spoiling mum with a surprise breakfast, that has been made with love just for her. Breakfast could be delivered on a breakfast tray, or you could sit down as as on a pretty styled dining table.
I have styled the table with gorgeous and affordable tableware, and added some tea cups and teapots from our high tea collection, and small vases of wildflowers. I have also included beautiful gift ideas for mum
I absolutely love the Wildflowers and Flower Garden range from
When paired with the Flower Garden plates, it made the perfect setting for a Mother’s Day Breakfast.
I drew inspiration from these plates for the theme “Wildflowers and Hearts” One of the things I love about styling is weaving the theme throughout the styling, from the larger props to the smaller subtle details on stationery. Throughout this set-up I added touches of wildflowers and hearts to tie in all the different elements from the paper flowers to the room service menus and custom made cookies.
I loved creating the paper flowers, for my dining room wall, as they are a great way to add
some pretty colour and style to a room. They are also quite easy to make with paper scissors and glue. They can take a bit if time to create, most of this time in the preparation , of cutting out the petals ready for gluing. the cutting of the petals to glue together.
For these paper flowers I used pearl paper in mint and pink, I love the way these pastel colours go together, and the pearl paper gives the paper flowers a shift shimmer.
You tube has a number of different videos on how to create your own paper flowers. This one I love from "Anyone Can Craft" as it also provide a link to the templates for the petals.
If you do like the look of paper flowers, but don’t want to spend the time cutting out your own petals, Kmart has just introduced Paper Flower Kits for $5.00 and include pre-cut flower petals to make five large flowers in pink and White .
I wanted to keep the table styling simple but still pretty, so we could all sit around and talk. Styled with lace tablecloths, pretty tableware and small vases of wildflowers, though what really made it a Special Mother’s Day setting was the gorgeous Mother 's Day Gift plaque from Barley Boy Australia
Another great mothers day gift, for those with a sweet tooth is custom made sugar cookies, these gorgeous themes cookies were created by Sugar Crumb Cookies https://www.instagram.com/sugarcrumbcookies/?hl=en, who has a beautiful and delicious range of Mothers Day cookies and cookies for all occasions.
A favourite part of being is a stylist for me is, adding the personal touch, for this breakfast set-up I designed breakfast menus, rooms service menus and matching gift tags for presents. I love working with Serendipity Design Corner who always brings my vision to life. https://www.instagram.com/serendipitydesigncorner/?hl=en
The most important part of a Mothers Day breakfast is the food that is cooked with love, as I am not the chef in out house, my go to recipe lemonade scones, as recipe that only requires three ingredients with additional cream and jam for serving.
